Lucinda Williams tours out 'West'

Americana singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams is set to headline a short run of US concerts beginning later this month.

The Grammy-winning performer, who just wrapped a support slot on the John Mellencamp tour, will be back on the road starting Aug. 26 in San Diego, CA. She'll play a handful of theater shows along the West Coast, as well as Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival and Jacksonville, OR's Britt Festival. Details are listed below.

Williams has been out supporting last year's "West," which reached No. 14 on the The Billboard 200 and scored two Grammy nominations for the single "Come On."

The Louisiana native is currently working on her next album, "Little Honey," which is a collection of bluesy rockers and contented love songs, according to Rolling Stone. The 13-track effort reportedly includes guest appearances by Elvis Costello, Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs and bluegrass singers Jim Lauderdale and Charlie Louvin. Williams closes the set with a cover of AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll).

Even though "Little Honey" has yet to be released, "Jailhouse Tears," the track featuring Costello, is already making an impression. Paste Magazine recently rated the song No. 5 on its Top 10 list of best country/rock duets.

A drop date for the new album has not been announced.
