Tattoo The Earth Tour Opens Without Coal Chamber, Adds New Dates
The Tattoo the Earth tour lineup has changed again, and new dates have been added to the tour’s itinerary. Several new bands have joined the travelling rock and body-art festival, while Coal Chamber announced just prior to the tour’s July 15 kick off in Portland, Ore., that it was bowing out.
The Tattoo the Earth roster now features: Sevendust, Slipknot, Slayer, (hed) p.e., Sepultura, Downset, Nashville Pussy, Mudvayne, Puya, Hatebreed, Workhorse Movement, Famous, Full Devil Jacket, Systematic, One Minute Silence, Spineshank, Cold, Amen, U.P.O., Esham, Nothingface and Relative Ash.
In addition to the tour’s regular bill, Metallica is scheduled to perform at the tour’s July 20 stop in East Rutherford, N.J.
Self-described “spookycore” band Coal Chamber, which was originally scheduled to perform throughout the tour, announced last week that the group had decided instead to begin work on a new studio album.
“The band has done their own sweep of the U.S. several times in support of their sophomore effort, 'Chamber Music,'” said Coal Chamber in a statement released on Thursday (7/13). “The band feels it's time to give the fans they saw along the way what they've repeatedly asked for--new music.”
