A Cursive Memory makes headline debut

Emerging pop-rockers A Cursive Memory are getting ready for their first headlining tour.

The California quartet will kick things off Oct. 1 in Anaheim, CA, and travel to the East Coast and back through mid-November, covering more than 40 US cities. A variety of support acts will join in on the fun, including A Rocket to The Moon, Brighten, Lives of Famous Men, The Urgency, Single File and Go Crash Audio.

A Cursive Memory has been on a relentless touring streak to support its second full-length album, "Changes," which surfaced last February. The set, inspired by the young members' evolution from high-school act to Vagrant Records signing, has been described by the guys, half-jokingly, as "kind of like music puberty."

The video for the lead single, "Everything," has made quite a splash, setting a MySpace record for the most-watched rock music video in one week and landing in the Top 10 on MTV's TRL countdown.

The members of A Cursive Memory spent several months scouring the streets of Hollywood and following paparazzi to get top-name celebrities to appear (sometimes unwillingly) in the humorous video, according to a press release. The end result can be seen at the group's MySpace page.

A Cursive Memory is the twin guitar and vocal attack of Shaun Profeta and Colin Baylen, with bassist Mark Borst Smith and drummer Dillan Wheeler locking down the rhythm section. The guys, who graduated from high school last year, have been writing and performing together since they were 14 and have shared the stage with acts including Hellogoodbye, Boys Like Girls and Jimmy Eat World, according to a press release.
