New Travis Tritt Single Hits Radio, Tour Dates Set
Travis Tritt will be on the road from August through October as he lays the groundwork for the release of his first album for Sony’s Columbia Records. The country musician joined the label after a decade-long stint with Warner Bros.
Fair and festival appearances dominate Tritt’s schedule, which currently includes nearly 30 appearances over the next three months.
Tritt’s itinerary includes an Aug. 11 appearance with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Montgomery Gentry at Nashville’s AmSouth Amphitheatre during the first night of what is being dubbed the “Workin’ Man’s Weekend;” Lynyrd Skynyrd will play with Gov’t Mule and Nashville Pussy the following night.
No Travis Tritt single has charted in Billboard’s top country singles since 1997’s “Where Corn Don’t Grow,” but a single titled “Best of Intentions,” is currently garnering significant airplay on country radio. The single is scheduled to be released on July 25, and video of the song--which was filmed at the Tennessee State Penitentiary--is now airing.
Tritt’s debut album for Columbia Records, titled “Down the Road,” will be released later this year, but the label has not announced a date.
