Beck tacks dates onto 'Modern Guilt' tour

Beck has added a few new dates to his current North American tour, with the singer/songwriter continuing to support his latest studio album, "Modern Guilt."

Fresh off an appearance at San Francisco's Outside Lands Festival last weekend, Beck traveled to Seattle over Labor Day weekend for an Aug. 30 appearance at the Bumbershoot Festival, and returned to San Francisco for an Aug. 31 encore appearance in the city, this time at a small nightclub in front of hundreds rather than a huge festival crowd numbering in the tens of thousands.

A highlight of the tour's schedule comes later this month, when Beck makes a Sept. 20 appearance at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl, accompanied by his father, composer/arranger David Campbell, who will be conducting the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Strings. The show will mark the first time the father and son have performed on stage together.

The tour continues through early October; dates are included below.

Beck collaborated with producer (and half of eclectic duo Gnarls Barkley) Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton on "Modern Guilt," his eighth studio release and the follow-up to 2006's "The Information." The 10-track CD, which hit stores on Beck's birthday, July 8, clocks in at just under 34 minutes, and features guest vocals from Cat Power on a pair of tracks.

The vinyl edition of the album, issued a few weeks later, includes download codes for high-quality (320 kbps) MP3s "produced from a playback of the vinyl master," according to a press release.

The video for the album's latest single, "Gamma Ray," can be found streaming at the record's website, along with video from the album's initial single, "Orphans."
