The Who Plot U.K. Tour For November
LONDON--The Who has added eight U.K. arena dates to its current tour, which will see them back on home territory in November. The band will play venues in England and Scotland in support of its latest album "The Blues to the Bush," starting in Manchester, England, on Nov. 2 and ending at London's Wembley Arena on Nov. 16.
The legendary British Invasion group, which originally formed in 1964, has completed the first leg of its U.S. tour, which wrapped up at Jones Beach Theater in New York on July 9. The second North American leg will kick off on August 14 in Los Angeles. That show replaces a previously planned Phoenix tour stop.
Other recently added North American cities include an Aug. 17 stop in San Diego and an Aug. 25 date in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Who "broke up" in 1982, but core members Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and John Entwistle have reunited many times since. According to The Complete Who Concert Guide, the three performed together on selected stops on the Quadrophenia revival in 1996 and 1997. They also got together for the 25th anniversary "The Kids Are Alright Tour" in 1989, and have played at several benefit shows.
"The Blues to the Bush" LP is only available over the Internet from Musicmaker.com.
