Scott Weiland readies new solo album, tour
Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland will stay on the road following STP's reunion tour to support his forthcoming solo album, "Happy In Galoshes."
The solo outing is currently scheduled to visit 14 cities across the US beginning Nov. 11 in Kansas City, MO, though more dates will be added, according to a press release. Confirmed shows are listed below.
Weiland has been on the road with Stone Temple Pilots since May and will finish off the band's mammoth comeback tour at the end of October.
"Happy In Galoshes," due Nov. 18, is Weiland's sophomore solo effort, following 1998's "12 Bar Blues." The new record, produced by the singer and Doug Grean (Velvet Revolver, Sheryl Crow), features guest performers including No Doubt members Adrian Young, Tony Kanal and Tom Dumont.
Weiland endured a bitter split with supergroup Velvet Revolver last spring before reuniting with Stone Temple Pilots following a six-year hiatus.
STP formed in 1992 and went on to record five studio albums and sell more than 35 million copies worldwide, according to a press release. The Grammy-winning grunge-rockers parted ways after completing a tour behind 2001's "Shangri-La Dee Da," which is their most recent studio album.
STP guitarist Dean DeLeo recently told the Associated Press that the band is also planning a new studio album.
