Buckcherry morphs into 'Butterfly' with fall dates

Hard rockers Buckcherry have lined up a run of headlining dates this fall in support of their new album, "Black Butterfly," which dropped into stores last week.

The current leg of the group's in-progress trek stretches into mid-October and features opening support from Shinedown and Saving Abel.

In November, Buckcherry will hook up with Avenged Sevenfold for a brief reprise of the co-headlining trek the two acts mounted earlier in the year, kicking off a five-city stretch Nov. 4 in Casper, WY. Dates are below.

"Black Butterfly," the band's fourth studio album, hit stores Sept. 16. A track from the new set, "Too Drunk ..," leaked onto the Internet in July, prompting the band to claim pirates were responsible for leaking the tune to file-sharing sites, although it later turned out that the group's own manager, Josh Klemme, was behind the leak.

Buckcherry's previous album, "15," spent 98 weeks on The Billboard 200, peaking at No. 39 earlier this year and becoming Buckcherry's first album to reach the Top 40. The album recently was certified platinum by the RIAA, marking US shipment of 1 million copies.

The group played more than 300 concerts in support of "15" during a span of time that covered more than two years.

"We're really fortunate that we got to our 300th show," guitarist Keith Nelson told LiveDaily shortly before the band marked the milestone last December in Las Vegas. "We know what a long shot it is. A lot of bands work as much as we have. We don't take it for granted, so we're going to have a good time."
