Beck shows 'Guilt' at grand opening of LA theater

Beck has added a pair of new tour dates--including a hometown return to open a new Los Angeles theater--as he continues a push behind his latest set, "Modern Guilt."

The singer/songwriter--who packed Los Angeles' legendary Hollywood Bowl with a capacity crowd last weekend--will open LA's new downtown Club Nokia Nov. 10. Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday (9/27) at 10 a.m. PST.

Meanwhile, the singer has added a third date to what is now an Oct. 8-10 run in New York City. Details are below.

Beck collaborated with producer Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton (one half of eclectic duo Gnarls Barkley) on "Modern Guilt," his eighth studio release and the follow-up to 2006's "The Information." The new, 10-track CD--which hit stores on Beck's birthday, July 8--clocks in at just under 34 minutes, and features guest vocals from Cat Power on a pair of tracks.

The vinyl edition of the album, issued a few weeks later, includes download codes for high-quality (320 kbps) MP3s "produced from a playback of the vinyl master," according to a press release.

The video for the album's latest single, "Gamma Ray," can be found streaming at the record's website, along with the video for the album's initial single, "Orphans."
