Bob Dylan [ tickets ] has added a raft of new dates to his forthcoming arena tour, which strikes out on a generally northward trail over the next two months.

The newly confirmed dates--all of them in Canadian venues and all but one set to occur within the province of Ontario--flesh out the mostly Canadian tour Dylan began to map last month. Only three of the outing's 18 dates take place in the US.

The trek kicks off Oct. 23 in Victoria, British Columbia. Information on obtaining pre-sales for the newly announced shows can be found at Dylan's website.

Meanwhile, the eighth installment of Dylan's Bootleg Series will ship Oct. 7. The forthcoming release, titled "Tell Tale Signs: The Bootleg Series Vol. 8," will feature previously unreleased studio recordings and alternate versions spanning a 17-year period, from 1989 to 2006, according to a press release.

The album will be available in a standard, two-disc version, as well as a deluxe, three-CD package, which includes a bonus disc containing 12 additional songs and a hardcover book of artwork from Dylan singles spanning his entire career.

The complete set can currently be heard streaming free-of-charge at the NPR Music website, and will continue streaming until the album's release date next week.

The singer's most recent studio release is 2006's "Modern Times," his first new album of original material since 2001's "Love and Theft." The album shot to No. 1 on The Billboard 200.
