Eagles make 'Long Road' trip longer

The Eagles continue to extend their journey on the "Long Road Out of Eden Tour," with a clutch of new dates that sets up the group's first concerts of 2009.

The veteran rockers continue their current run Nov. 8 in Omaha, NE, a stretch that includes a Dec. 1 appearance in Houston--rescheduled from September in the wake of Hurricane Ike--as well as the band's first look into next year, with a trio of shows in Florida. Details are below.

On the road, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit are performing classic Eagles songs, hits from their solo careers and tunes from last year's "Long Road Out of Eden," which marked the band's first collection of new material in 28 years.

The two-disc set topped The Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums chart last November, and remains on the former chart almost a year after the album's release. The record has gone seven times platinum with the help of hit singles "Busy Being Fabulous" and "How Long," the latter of which scored the Eagles a Grammy in February for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. It marked the fifth time the band has taken home a Grammy.

The Eagles, who will be in the running for Vocal Group of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards in November, have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five No. 1 singles and five Grammy Awards, according to a press release. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975" has reached 29-times platinum and is the best-selling album of all time in the US.
