Lynyrd Skynyrd
"Sweet Home Alabama: The Rockpalast Collection"
(Eagle Rock)
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd revisit past performances in this two-hour DVD, available Oct. 28. The main focus: the Southern rockers' 1996, 14-song performance at Rockpalast's Loreley Festival, led by Johnny Van Zant, including tracks "Saturday Night Special," "That Smell" and "Gimme Three Steps." Three of the Southern-rock icons' most popular songs, "Sweet Home Alabama," "Working For MCA" and the ubiquitous "Free Bird," are also featured in previously unreleased footage performed in 1974 by original frontman and founding member Ronnie Van Zant.
Willie Nelson & Wynton Marsalis
"Live From Jazz at Lincoln Center New York City"
(Eagle Rock)
Country legend Willie Nelson and jazz trumpet virtuoso Wynton Marsalis teamed up for two historic nights at New York City's Lincoln Center in January 2007, recreating songs from other well-known artists like Jimmy Reed, Hank Williams and Duke Ellington. Intermingled with interview clips from the two iconic musicians, featured tracks include "Bright Lights Big City," "Sweet Georgia Brown" and "Don't Get Around Much Anymore." The 13 songs performed on this 85-minute DVD, out Oct. 28, can also be found on Nelson's and Marsalis' current CD release, "Two Men With the Blues."
Static-X
"Cannibal Killers Live"
(Warner Bros. Records)
The metal heads of Static-X are celebrating the early October release of their first full-length live DVD. Filmed in Spokane, WA, in June 2007 shortly, after the release of their latest studio album, "Cannibal," the 17-song set features material spanning their 14-year career. Old favorites like "Push It" and "Bled For Days" accompany more recent tracks, including "Cannibal," "I'm With Stupid" and "Love Dump," while the special-edition version also contains the group's 1997 performance at West Hollywood, CA's Whiskey A Go-Go.
Chris Isaak
"Chris Isaak Christmas"
(Koch Vision)
Crooner Chris Isaak is getting into the holiday spirit with the recent release of his latest DVD, the simply titled "Chris Isaak Christmas." Special guests Michael Buble, Stevie Nicks and Brian McKnight join Isaak and his established band on an array of yuletide classics--including "Let It Snow," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"--while Isaak also takes on a few of his original creations, like "Washington Square," "Christmas on TV" and "Gotta Be Good."
Donovan

(SPV Recordings)
Fans of '60s singer/songwriter Donovan will enjoy this all-encompassing, three-hour, feature documentary, complete with seven concert performances.
