Mystery illness revealed as Janet Jackson returns to the road

After postponing nine concerts due to what her manager now says was a rare migraine disorder, it looks like Janet Jackson is finally resuming her "Rock Witchu" tour tonight (10/15) in Washington, DC.

Over the last couple of weeks, fans have been kept in the dark as to why the pop star was bowing out of shows at the last minute. A statement obtained by the Washington Post confirmed that tonight's show is on and said Jackson is being treated for vestibular migraine, which causes vertigo.

"Janet wanted very much to resume her tour so as not to disappoint her fans, but she continued to suffer from vertigo and could not perform," Jackson's manager, Kenneth Crear, explained in the statement. "She's a world-class entertainer and needs to be at the top of her game to give her fans the show they expect. She's feeling much better and is ready to hit the road again to finish the tour."

The remaining nine dates on the trek, including a rescheduled show at New York City's Madison Square Garden, are detailed below. Jackson's promoter, Live Nation, is working to reschedule postponed shows in Montreal; Boston; Philadelphia; Atlanta; Greensboro, NC; Sunrise, FL; Uncasville, CT; and Verona, NY.

The "Rock Witchu" arena tour, which launched Sept. 10 and includes guest star LL Cool J, is Jackson's first outing in seven years. The 42-year-old performer is supporting her 10th studio effort, "Discipline," which topped The Billboard 200 in March--her sixth album to do so.
