Los Lobos line up late-year dates, look ahead to 2009

Los Lobos have loaded up some roadwork for December before the band heads back into the studio early next year to start work on a new studio album.

The veteran LA-based roots-rockers show scattered dates throughout the rest of the year and into 2009--including a pair of Midwest shows later this month (Oct. 24 in Waukegan, IL, and Oct. 25 in Bloomington, IL)--with the largest concentration falling in December, when the highlight is a back-to-back Dec. 5-6 stand in San Francisco. Details are below.

Los Lobos continue to support their 2006 release, "The Town and The City," which marks the band's 13th studio album. The self-produced set broke into The Billboard 200 and landed on several critics' list as one of the Top 10 albums of 2006.

In an interview with LiveDaily earlier this year, percussionist/guitarist Louie Perez said Los Lobos' upcoming projects include a children's album of Disney-movie songs and a concert/documentary DVD that includes the band performing the album "Kiko" in its entirety.

The group will also return to the recording studio next year to begin work a follow-up to "The Town and the City," according to a press release.
