Cool Kids, Q-Tip sign on for 2K Sports Bounce Tour

Indie hip-hop duo The Cool Kids and rapper Q-Tip will headline the latest edition of the 2K Sports Bounce Tour, which focuses on the brand's new "NBA 2K9" video game.

The fledgling rap pair and Q-Tip, of A Tribe Called Quest, will be joined by EPMD's DJ Scratch on the tour, which kicks off Nov. 5 in Chicago. The outing will hit 19 cities through early December, and will feature additional support acts at each location. More info can be found at 2K Sports' website.

In addition to performing on the tour, the Cool Kids are also playable characters in the game, according to a press release. Other musicians who make cameos in the game include Bobbito, Steve Aoki, Aceyalone and Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest.

The Cool Kids' debut full-length album, "When Fish Ride Bicycles," is scheduled for release sometime before the end of 2008. The duo's previous EP, "The Bake Sale," has sold more than 31,000 copies in the US since being released this spring, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Q-Tip's forthcoming third solo album, "The Renaissance," is due in stores Nov. 4. The set features production from J Dilla, Kanye West, Dan the Automator and others, with guest performers including Norah Jones and D'Angelo.
