Bonnie Raitt hosted a "world music-blues workshop" for inner-city kids at the Hollywood Bowl, the Los Angeles Times reported. The event, which Raitt hoped would instill an appreciation of the blues in the children, ended with performances by Alvin Youngblood Hart, KoKo Taylor and others.

Columbia Records has launched the Columbia Radio Network. The label is billing the network as "the first online promotional radio stations to ever be launched by a major record label." It will play Columbia artists exclusively.
