Report: Lil Wayne stands up Boston fans

Chart-topping rapper Lil Wayne , who was scheduled to perform Monday (10/27) at radio-station event in Boston, reportedly pulled out at the last minute despite being at the venue.

According to the Boston Herald, Lil Wayne "was apparently unable or unwilling" to comply with a security checkpoint at Boston's TD Bankorth Garden, and instead chose to leave. The paper later reported that the incident stemmed from his refusal to perform after some "members of his posse flunked the metal-detector test."

Lil Wayne's backing band and DJ had already begun their performance at the time that the rapper decided to duck out, and reportedly spent a half-hour vamping in front of the crowd while organizers tried to convince Lil Wayne to perform his set.

The paper reported that hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, who was billed as Lil Wayne's co-headliner for the event, "proved [to be] the consummate professional, taking the stage early," and returned to the stage after his set was over to "perform impromptu songs and chat with the crowd before curfew."
