So. Cal punk icons Social Distortion [ tickets ] and speed-metal legends Motorhead [ tickets ] will lead the lineup of the inaugural "Kat Von D and Samsung Mobile Musink Tattoo and Music Festival [ tickets ]" tour.

The outing, conceived by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D, is scheduled to launch Jan. 30 and hit 25 major cities across the US, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and New York, according to a press release. More bands, confirmed dates and additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition to music, the traveling festival will feature top tattoo artists from all over the world, extreme sports demonstrations, a technology village, video gaming and lifestyle vendors. The tour is an expansion of last February's three-day Musink event in Orange County, CA, which featured headliners The Used, Tiger Army and Metal Skool, and drew more than 15,000 fans.

"We had such a blast with the first Musink Festival, it only made sense to take this event on the road and share the experience with everyone all over the country," Von D said in a statement.

The famed tattoo artist is expected to be on hand at every tour stop to sign copies of her forthcoming book, "High Voltage Tattoo," which is due Jan. 20.

Social D frontman Mike Ness said his band is stoked to be a part of the event.

"I mean, I can play every night and get tattooed by some of the best artists in the world during the day," Ness stated in a press release. "Seriously, what goes better than rock n' roll and tattoos?"

Social Distortion continues to support its first career-spanning retrospective, "Greatest Hits," which surfaced last year. The group's most recent studio album is 2004's "Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll."

Motorhead is backing its 20th studio album, "Motorizer," which hit the streets in August. The set is the rockers' first studio effort since 2006's "Kiss of Death."
