MySpace has been good to electropop outfit Metro Station [ tickets ].

Not only did lead singer Mason Musso and co-frontman Trace Cyrus meet keyboardist/bassist Blake Healy online, but their music has been spread virally via their MySpace page, which has racked up 20 million pageviews. .

"We were discovered through MySpace," Musso said during a phone interview, explaining that an intern who worked for Columbia Records heard the band's music on the social-networking site. "We found band members through MySpace. MySpace was a way for us to meet and share our music with people who we probably couldn't if it wasn't for the Internet, and things like MySpace and YouTube and all that fun stuff."

Musso and Cyrus, however, met through their mothers while on the set of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana." Musso is the brother of Mitchel, who stars on the show, as does Cyrus' half sister, Miley.

"It's really cool," Musso said. "Me and Trace met and then, two to three days later, he was over at my house and we were writing our first song together called 'The Love that Left You to Die.'

"Shortly after that, we met Blake on MySpace. We decided we all wanted the same thing and we were going to go for it. 'Let's make some music and hopefully people like it.'"

Fans have embraced Metro Station, and the band's song "Shake It" hit Billboard's Top 10, something that surprises Musso.

"I never thought any of the songs that we made would have an impact on us and the fans," Musso explained. "It's crazy to watch a song that we really love and we put a lot of time into really get moving. It is. It really is. It's cool. I'm glad the kids are having a good time shaking it."

Now the band, which also includes drummer Anthony Improgo, is sharing its music through live performances during its first headlining jaunt, a run that also includes openers The White Tie Affair, Tyga and Cash Cash.

"It's been going good," Musso said of the tour. "We're just living it up, having fun on our first headlining tour. It's a lot of fun. It's cool to see how our fanbase is progressing and trying to make these kids dance and have a good time."

Metro Station is promoting its self-titled debut, which hits stores in 2007. Musso said the band has started writing new material.

"We're always writing new songs. We're always getting together trying to write new material and stuff. It's just a question of putting it all together and deciding the best couple songs we want to put on our next album and making it. There's been talk about going in [to the studio] probably next year, probably after February, around March. But I'm not sure yet. It's still kind of up in the air. We're just still figuring it out. But right now we're trying to get this album going and the kids seem to still be liking it."
