Album Chart: 'Twilight' soundtrack nabs top spot
AC/DC's two week residency atop the US album chart has been usurped by the soundtrack to the upcoming vampire film "Twilight."
The soundtrack--which features cuts from the likes of Linkin Park, Muse and Paramore--moved 165,000 copies during its first week out, enough to enter The Billboard 200 chart at No. 1. Billboard bases its flagship album chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail data.
AC/DC's "Black Ice" sold 160,000 copies over the past week, and drops to the No. 2 slot, according to Billboard. The " High School Musical 3" soundtrack holds steady at No. 3 with sales of 110,000.
Hinder 's "Take It to the Limit" enters the chart at No. 4 on first-week sales of 81,000, while Pink 's "Funhouse" slips three notches to No. 5 on sales of 73,000, according to Billboard.
Rounding out the Top 10 are John Legend 's "Evolver" at No. 6, T.I. 's "Paper Trail" at No. 7, Andrea Bocelli 's "Incanto" at No. 8, Brad Paisley 's "Play" at No. 9, and Rascal Flatts ' "Greatest Hits Volume 1" at No. 10.
