Album Chart: Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' shoots to No. 1
Young country singer Taylor Swift 's sophomore album, "Fearless," sold 592,000 copies during its first week in stores, marking the best sales week for a country album since last November, when the Eagles ' "Long Road Out of Eden" moved more than 700,000 copies.
The 18-year-old Swift beat out another youngster on The Billboard 200 chart; "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta checks in at No. 2 with his self-titled debut, which sold 183,000 copies. Billboard bases its flagship album chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
The 29th edition of the "Now That's What I Call Music" hits-compilation series enters the chart at No. 3 thanks to 172,000 copies sold, while T-Pain 's "Th33 Ringz" moved 167,000 copies and debuts at No. 4, according to Billboard.
The "Twilight" soundtrack, last week's No. 1 album, sold 107,000 copies during its second week out and falls to No. 5.
Rounding out the Top 10 are AC/DC's "Black Ice" at No. 6, the "High School Musical 3" soundtrack at No. 7, Enya 's "And Winter Came" at No. 8, Christina Aguilera 's Target-exclusive best-of set "Keeps Gettin' Better at No. 9 and T.I. 's "Paper Trail" at No. 10.
