Emmylou and friends set more 3 Girls & Their Buddy dates
Singers/songwriters Emmylou Harris , Patty Griffin , Shawn Colvin and Buddy Miller will mount another round of collaborative shows together in February.
The four performers' second slate of "3 Girls & Their Buddy" shows launches Feb. 5 in Harrisburg, PA, and will hit eight East Coast cities, including dates in New York City (2/20) and Boston (2/22). Details are included below for the outing, which reprises a similar trek by the foursome in January of this year.
In June, 12-time Grammy winner Harris released her 21st major-label solo album, "All I Intended to Be." The set, her first release of all-new studio material since 2003's "Stumble Into Grace," debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, earning the singer her highest solo record debut since 1981's "Evangeline."
Griffin continues to support her 2007 release, "Children Running Through," which earned the singer her highest-ever first-week sales totals. The set was nominated for a Grammy in the Contemporary Folk / Americana category.
Colvin's latest release, "These Four Walls," surfaced in the fall of 2006. The set marked her first new album since 2001's "Whole New You" and her debut on Nonesuch Records. Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning folk-rocker also put out her own version of the Gnarls Barkley tune "Crazy," which is streaming at her MySpace page.
Americana singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer Miller continues to support his 2004 gospel-roots album, "Universal United House of Prayer." He received the Instrumentalist of the Year award at this year's Americana Music Association honors program in Nashville, TN, where he was joined on stage by Robert Plant on "Whatcha Gonna Do, Leroy," a track from Miller's forthcoming new album, which is due next spring, according to comments the performer made while accepting the award.
