No Doubt, they're back

Ska-rockers No Doubt intend to hit the road next year for their first tour in five years.

Over the weekend, the bandmates revealed their plans at No Doubt's website, which features a new group photo and a streaming "chat" between the members.

"I have cabin fever," guitarist Tom Dumont writes. "Maybe we should play some shows or something?"

To that, drummer Adrian Young and bassist Tony Kanal respond that they're ready to rock and roll, and frontwoman Gwen Stefani adds, "I think we should go out now. I don't think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again."

No specific tour information has been announced, but sources told People magazine the trek will likely kick off next summer.

Meanwhile, it's been reported that No Doubt has spent part of 2008 in the studio, although Stefani's participation has been limited since giving birth to her second son in August. The group is working on the followup to 2001's "Rock Steady."

Stefani has spent the last several years supporting her two platinum-selling solo albums. Last year, she was quoted as saying there had been some tension in the No Doubt camp because her wildly successful solo stint wasn't supposed to last so long.

However, the other members of the band have staying busy, as well. Dumont focused on a side project, Invincible Overlord, got married and welcomed two sons, while Kanal turned to producing music for artists including Pink and Stefani, and Young toured and recorded with other bands, according to People.
