Yes Keyboardist Arrested Following Washington, D.C. Show
Touring Yes keyboardist Igor Khoroshev was charged with assault and battery and sexual battery following the bands Sunday (7/23) performance near Washington, D.C., according to Prince William County, Va., police reports. Police said that two female security guards working at the event claimed that Khoroshev made unwanted sexual advances backstage.
One woman told police that Khoroshev sat on her lap and tried to insert his tongue in her mouth during the break in the show at Nissan Pavilion. She told police that after she repeatedly tried to stop his advances, he bit her in the neck. The other security guard told police that Khoroshev made lewd comments to her and squeezed her buttocks
Both of the charges Khoroshev faces are misdemeanors. He played with the band during its next scheduled show, which took place on Tuesday (7/25) in Virginia Beach, Va.
In an unrelated development, Yes has rescheduled two performances that were postponed earlier this month. The bands appearance at Deer Creek Amphitheatre in Indianapolis has been rescheduled for Aug. 3, and the bands stop at Cincinnatis Riverbend Amphitheatre is now scheduled for Aug. 4. Kansas, which is the supporting act for the other dates on the tour, will not appear on the rescheduled dates.
Yes postponed both shows, which were to take place on July 12 and 13, because frontman Jon Anderson was suffering from throat problems, promoters said.
