Disco Biscuits map dates for early year roadwork

Trance/jam/fusion-rockers The Disco Biscuits will finish up a (lengthy for them) four-month break from the road and head out on an early 2009 headlining trek.

The Philadelphia jam-squad breaks its touring fast later this month with five shows in New York City from Dec. 26-31, leading up to the band's annual New Year's Eve extravaganza.

The tour bus hits the road in earnest a few weeks later, kicking off Jan. 16 in Northampton, MA, the first of more than two-dozen cities the outing will hit through early March. Dates are below.

Although the group's most recent studio set is 2002's "Senor Boombox," the band tends to issue new material on its live albums, the most recent of which are a pair of 2006 releases: the 2-disc "The Wind at Four to Fly" and "Rocket 3," which captures the entire third set of the band's 2004 New Year's Eve performance in New York City.

According to the Biscuits' website, the group is currently "putting the finishing touches" on an upcoming new studio release.
