Willie Nelson [ tickets ] and Asleep at the Wheel plan to hit the road together next year to support their forthcoming collaboration, "Willie and the Wheel."

The tour is set to launch Feb. 11 in Red Bank, NJ, and roll through 10 cities along the East Coast through Feb. 21. Details are listed below.

"Willie and I are cooking up quite a concert," Asleep at the Wheel founder Ray Benson said in a statement. "Not only will we be playing songs from the new album, we'll also perform Willie's classics together with Asleep at the Wheel and a full horn section. There will be a few surprises too!"

"Willie and the Wheel," due in stores Feb. 3, is a collection of classic western swing songs handpicked by late producer Jerry Wexler. The concept for the album was 30 years in the making, according to a press release.

"Jerry Wexler originally came up with this concept back when Willie was on the Atlantic label," Benson explained. "But before the record could be made, Willie left Atlantic for CBS Records and so the idea was shelved."

In 2007, Nelson hooked up with Asleep at the Wheel, Merle Haggard and Ray Price for the Last of the Breed tour, showcasing classic western swing and Texas country music. The outing struck a chord with Wexler, who decided it was finally time for the "Willie and the Wheel" CD.

"Jerry wanted us to do this album and I'm glad we got to do it for him, and that he heard it before he passed on," Nelson said in a statement.

The legendary record producer died at age 91 last August from congestive heart failure.

In addition to the "Willie and the Wheel" tour, Nelson continues his never-ending road work with a slate of January/February dates that kick off Jan. 9 in West Wendover, NV. Engagements include a five-night stand in San Francisco in mid-January and a two-night stand in New York City Feb. 9-10. The country icon's full itinerary can be found at his website.
