M. Ward clocks in with new 'Time'

Singer/songwriter M. Ward has lined up a brief run of theater dates following the forthcoming release of his latest solo studio effort, "Hold Time."

Ward will kick off the outing Feb. 18 in Somerville, MA. After hitting a few East Coast markets, the singer will head overseas for a handful of European shows, then return to the US for a West Coast leg. Details are included below. Overseas shows can be found at Ward's website.

Due on store shelves Feb. 17, "Hold Time" is the Portland native's sixth studio album in a solo recording career that dates back to 1999's "Duet for Guitars #2." The forthcoming set features guest appearances from Lucinda Williams, Grandaddy's Jason Lytle, Tom Hagerman of DeVotchka, and Zooey Deschanel, Ward's collaborator in the duo She & Him.

The title track from the new album is streaming at Ward's website. Streaming cuts from Ward's previous album, 2006's "Post War," can be found at the singer's MySpace page.

Ward will also appear with Deschanel as She & Him on an upcoming episode of Elvis Costello's Sundance Channel show "Spectacle." The pair will guest on the Feb. 11 episode of the program, along with Jenny Lewis and Jakob Dylan.
