Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold extend co-bill outing
Hard rockers Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold have made a New Year's resolution to continue rockin' America.
The bands have added a 2009 run to their co-headlining arena jaunt, which will also feature Papa Roach and Saving Abel . Dates kick off Jan. 28 in Salt Lake City, UT, and stretch from coast to coast through late February. Details are listed below.
Tickets go on sale beginning tomorrow (12/12), and they're priced to sell at around $40.
"Here is a situation where the bands realize what the economy is doing and have put together an incredible package that gives the fans more than their money's worth," tour promoter Fred Frank said in a statement. "It is also one of the few shows we've seen in a long time where the fans are there from the time the doors open to the time the last band leaves."
Buckcherry is backing its fourth studio album, "Black Butterfly," which surfaced in September and became the band's first effort to debut in the Top 10 on The Billboard 200. The set was recently named iTunes Rock Album of the Year and was ranked No. 1 on Stephen King's Top 10 albums of the year for Entertainment Weekly, according to a press release. The record's lead track, "Too Drunk," shot up the rock charts, and the followup, "Rescue me," is currently making the climb.
Avenged Sevenfold has been on the road for more than a year supporting its 2007 self-titled set, which debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and marked the band's biggest first-week sales total. The album has scored mainstream- and modern-rock hits with "Afterlife" and "Almost Easy," and the latest single, "Scream," is currently heading up the charts.
The rockers also recently released the CD/DVD package "Live in the LBC & Diamond in the Rough," which captures a hometown show in Long Beach, CA, and includes previously unreleased material from their latest recording sessions.
Avenged Sevenfold is currently closing out 2008 with a few gigs on the East Coast and in Canada. The band's full itinerary is posted at its website.
