The Airborne Toxic Event plots dates behind debut set

Indie rockers The Airborne Toxic Event have lined up a lengthy headlining trek behind their self-titled debut album, which dropped in August.

The Los Angeles-based band has several dates lined up, including Thursday night's (12/11) performance as part of a holiday-themed radio promotion in Austin, TX, before heading to the UK and France for an early year European leg. The group then returns home to kick off a fresh North American outing Feb. 11 in San Diego.

Dates for the 30-city US and Canadian trek are shown below; the band's overseas schedule is posted at ATE's website.

The five-piece group dropped its self-titled debut album in August on the Majordomo label. The set follows the band's debut single, "Does This Mean You're Moving On," released last year in the UK only, and a self-released EP consisting of demo versions of some of the material from the new album.

The album's first single, "Sometime Around Midnight," reached No. 23 on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart in August. The song is streaming at the band's MySpace page.

The group--Mikel Jollett (lead vocals), Daren Taylor (drums), Noah Harmon (bass), Steven Chen (guitar) and Anna Bulbrook (keyboards/violin)--formed in the summer of 2006, according to a press release, when Jollett and Taylor met and began working on songs as a two-piece before incorporating additional members into the group's mix.
