Worldwide, Bon Jovi tallied up $210.6 million in ticket sales and drew 2,157,675 fans, Billboard reported. Those totals kept them ahead of fellow legendary New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen [ tickets ], whose 2008 run with the E Street Band bagged $204.5 million.
Madonna [ tickets ] lands in the No. 3 slot with $162 million for her still-in-progress Sticky & Sweet world tour, while The Police [ tickets ] follow at No. 4 with $150 million for the second leg of their massively successful reunion--and, as it turns out, farewell--tour. Celine Dion [ tickets ], meanwhile, nabs No. 5 with a grand total of $91 million.
Rounding out the 2008's Top 10 highest-grossing tours are: Kenny Chesney [ tickets ] ($86 million), Neil Diamond [ tickets ] ($81.2 million), Spice Girls [ tickets ] ($70 million), Eagles [ tickets ] ($56.6 million) and Rascal Flatts [ tickets ] ($55.8 million).
The sales figures are based on data reported to Billboard Boxscore from Nov. 14 of last year through Nov. 11 of this year, according to Billboard.
