Musink fest returns to SoCal
Though the touring version of Musink was called off earlier this month, the tattoo-and-music festival will be back in its original form in February with headliners Reverend Horton Heat , Atreyu and Danzig .
The second annual, three-day Musink Tattoo Convention and Music Festival will rock the Orange County Fair & Exhibition Center in Costa Mesa, CA, Feb. 20-22. Other bands confirmed so far include Nekromantix, Manic Hispanic, Story of the Year and Throwdown, and more will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release. The music schedule can be found at Musink's website.
The event will also showcase more than 200 tattoo artists from across the globe and feature professional skateboard and BMX demonstrations, art exhibits, educational seminars and tattoo contests.
Tickets are $25 and go on sale Jan. 10 through Ticketmaster outlets (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company).
Last February's inaugural Musink, featuring headliners The Used, Tiger Army and Metal Skool, sold out with more than 13,000 people in attendance, according to a press release.
The event's success prompted plans for a touring version that was to be co-produced by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D and feature Social Distortion and Motorhead. However, Social D announced earlier this month that the outing was scrapped "due to complications with the Musink touring company."
Kat Von D has no involvement with the SoCal festival, according to a press release.
