Madonna scores top North American tour of 2008
Madonna 's "Sticky & Sweet" trek distinguished itself as the top-grossing tour in North America this year, with the Material Girl racking up a total of $105.3 million in ticket sales across the continent, according to concert-industry trade-magazine Pollstar.
Fellow diva Celine Dion trails Madge at No. 2 with $94 million in North American ticket sales, while the Eagles follow at No. 3 with $73.4 million. Close behind is country sensation Kenny Chesney at No. 4 with $72.2 million, and New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi--whom Billboard recently crowned as 2008's top earner worldwide--at No. 3 with North American ticket sales of $70.4 million.
Rounding out Pollstar's Top 10 are Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band at No. 6 with $69.3 million, Neil Diamond at No. 7 with $59.8 million, Rascal Flatts at No. 8 with $55.8 million, The Police at No. 9 with $48 million and Tina Turner at No. 10 with $47.7 million.
