Toby Keith extends New Year trek

Dates continue to trickle in for the next leg of Toby Keith 's "Biggest & Baddest Tour."

The country star is set to kick off his 2009 outing this Saturday (1/10) in Biloxi, MS, and his itinerary now includes 10 cities around the eastern US through late February. Since last check, shows have been added in Asheville, NC; Louisville, KY; Pikeville, KY; and Rockford, IL. Keith has also signed on to play WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, MN, next August. His full schedule is listed below.

The singer/actor/entrepreneur has been on the road supporting his 14th studio effort, "That Don't Make Me A Bad Guy," which surfaced in October and became his seventh album to shoot to No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The set has spawned the chart-topping hit "She Never Cried in Front of Me" and the followup single, "God Love Her," which is currently holding the No. 11 slot on the Hot Country Songs chart.

"That Don't Make Me A Bad Guy" is Keith's second consecutive album for which he served as his own producer. He said that, for years, he felt he needed an outside producer to make sure his music stayed inside the lines of what is considered radio friendly. But things have changed.

"As we've evolved, I really don't need to find a niche anymore," Keith explained in his bio. "I've got my own niche. When I come on the radio, people know it's me. Now I'm producing and I think I'm getting better every time I do it."

His new record follows last year's "Big Dog Daddy," which includes the fastest-rising single of Keith's career, "High Maintenance Woman," as well as the hits "Love Me If You Can" and "Get My Drink On." In May, he topped the country charts once again with "Toby Keith's 35 Biggest Hits."

Between recording, touring and raising money for charity, the performer found time last year to film his second major motion picture, "Beer For My Horses," which also stars Rodney Carrington, Ted Nugent and Willie Nelson. The CMT television network is airing the movie throughout January and February. Dates and times can be found at Keith's website.

Last summer, Keith was ranked by Forbes as country music's No. 1 earner, with an estimated $48 million raked in over one year. He has sold more than 25 million albums in this decade alone and nearly 35 million over the course of his career, according to his website.
