Peter Bjorn and John put 'Thing' in motion

Peter Bjorn and John have lined up a slate of North American shows in support of the group's forthcoming new studio album, "Living Thing."

The Swedish pop trio kicks off the 12-city outing April 21 in Minneapolis, and the initial batch of dates clumps mostly along the East Coast, including shows in Montreal (4/27), New York City (4/29) and Philadelphia (5/1). Details are listed below.

The trio's latest studio album, "Living Thing," follows quickly on the heels of last fall's "Seaside Rock," a mostly instrumental affair that the band released only on vinyl and as a digital purchase.

According to the band's label, Wichita Records, the new set, which was produced by Lars Marten and recorded in Stockholm, New York City and Los Angeles, features an "unprecedented level of input from the band and reflects the musical tastes, influences and personality of each individual member more than any previous PB+J album." The set is due in stores March 31.

Fans who pre-order the album through the group's MySpace page will receive a code good for a ticket pre-sale opportunity "while supplies last," along with an instant download of the band's new single, "Nothing to Worry About."

According to musicradar.com, the trio sent an advance copy of the single to Kanye West, who praised the cut on his blog, and also leaked the song to the Internet.
