Singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne will head back out on the road in April for another round of headlining dates to support his latest studio set, "Gossip in the Grain."

The singer kicks off his second run of dates behind the album April 2 in Montclair, NJ. Fans will be given the opportunity to purchase front-row seats for the shows while supporting the Tickets-For-Charity organization, with a portion of each ticket package purchased benefiting the National Children's Cancer Society. "Gossip in the Grain," which surfaced in October, is the singer's third studio album and follows 2006's "Till the Sun Turns Black." The record entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 3, assuring LaMontagne of his highest-charting effort to date.

Lamontagne recorded "Gossip in the Grain" in England with returning producer Ethan Johns. The song "Let It Be Me" from the album was featured on the seventh episode of the Fox Network drama "Fringe," while another cut, "Winter Birds," was heard during the 10th episode of the current season of ABC-TV's "Grey's Anatomy."

After recording his previous two albums--"Till the Sun Turns Black" and 2004's "Trouble"--as mostly solo endeavors (with Johns serving as a contributing instrumentalist), Lamontagne enlisted the help of a couple of his touring-band members while recording "Gossip in the Grain": bassist Jennifer Condos and guitarist Eric Heywood. Jones handled most of the drumming this time around. Singer Leona Naess, who toured with LaMontagne as opening support last fall, provided backup vocals on the album.
