Tom Jones prepares to open '24 Hours' trek
Tom Jones has announced a slate of late winter/early spring tour dates to back November's "24 Hours," his first US release in 15 years.
The Welsh singer--who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006--gets the trek underway Feb. 24 in New York City. After taking a break following visits to nine cities across the US in late February and early March, Jones will resurface for six shows in Florida in April, with the outing kicking off April 19 in Orlando. Dates are below.
Produced by British duo Future Cut (Lily Allen, Kate Nash), "24 Hours" features contributions from U2's Bono and The Edge, who co-wrote and appear on the track "Sugar Daddy."
Jones credits the inspiration for the album to a drinking session in a Dublin nightclub with Bono, who "started asking me about my life, my early years, my old hopes and expectations and ambitions, and he took mental notes all the while," the singer said in his record company bio.
"I was adamant, though, that I didn't want this just to be an album of old memories, but rather to somehow convey the sense that I am still very much in the present tense here, I'm still as large as life, and busy making new memories all the time," Jones added.
