Franz Ferdinand offers fans spring look at 'Tonight'

Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand return to the US this spring for a headlining run in support of the band's first new studio album in four years.

The band will tackle an extensive run of European dates before kicking off the US portion of the schedule April 13 in Seattle. Aside from the 18 headlining shows on the outing, the group will also fill an April 17 slot at Indio, CA's Coachella Festival. Dates are shown below; the overseas schedule can be found at the official Franz Ferdinand website.

While on the road, the group will be promoting its recently released third album, "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand," which follows 2005's "You Could Have It So Much Better" and the band's self-titled 2004 debut.

The new album, which hit stores late last month, was produced by Dan Carey (Lily Allen, Brazilian Girls). The first single from the set, "Ulysses," debuted at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart, and is currently streaming at the band's MySpace page.

"When we did the second album, the dance and synthesizer side of what we do maybe went to the side and the rock side came to the fore a little bit," frontman Alex Kapranos told Rolling Stone recently. "I suppose we're heading back to the idea of dance music. It's more of a dance record than a rock record."
