Kings of Leon map spring arena trek
Flush from the success of their latest album, "Only by the Night," Kings of Leon will step up to the task of filling arenas on the band's spring headlining tour.
The Grammy-nominated southern rockers kick off the plus-sized outing April 19 in Boston, the first of 17 cities currently slated for the spring trek. Dates are included below, along with on-sale dates for each show.
Released in September, "Only By the Night" debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart and quickly become top-seller at the iTunes store. The band recorded the set, its fourth studio album, in its hometown of Nashville with Angelo Petraglia and Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Modest Mouse) behind the boards.
The album's first single, "Sex on Fire," is currently No. 1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Hot Tracks chart, a position the song has held for nine weeks. A second single, "Use Somebody," hit airwaves in December. Videos for both songs are streaming at the group's website.
The band is vying in three categories at Saturday night's (2/8) 51st Grammy Awards; along with a nod for Best Album, "Sex on Fire" scored a pair of nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
