The Decemberists route tour around 'Hazards'

Indie-rockers The Decemberists will launch a late-spring tour behind the band's next studio album, "The Hazards of Love," which is in the offing for next month.

The Portland, OR, natives kick off the outing May 19 in Los Angeles, and will hit 15 cities on the road trip before making an appearance during the June 11-14 Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN. During the headlining shows, the group plans to play the new album in its entirety, followed by selections from throughout the band's career. Dates are included below.

A number of first-come, first-served tickets are currently available through the band's website. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Feb. 13.

Due in stores March 24, "The Hazards of Love" is the band's fifth studio album. The 17-track set "tells the tale of a woman named Margaret who is ravaged by a shape-shifting animal; her lover, William; a forest queen; and a cold-blooded, lascivious rake," according to a press release.

Several guest performers appear on the record as "characters" in the album's storyline, among them My Morning Jacket's Jim James, Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark, My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden, the Spinanes' Rebecca Gates and Robyn Hitchcock.

The forthcoming album is the group's first studio release since 2006's "The Crane Wife," which also revolved around storytelling themes and was inspired by both a Japanese folk tale and "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare.
