Manson Says "Holy Wood" Is Heaviest Creation Yet

LONDON-- Marilyn Manson has announced that he will release his third album "Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)" through nothing/Interscope Records on October 24. The news comes via a film made by Manson at his home on August 1 which is available on his official site.

He also stated in the film that he will be posting weekly "Holy Wood" previews that may include music and artwork, urging fans to get their updates from his official site versus other unauthorized sources.

"We'll give a weekly listing of a new song or artwork as we go along so you can see it and hear it first before someone else gets it inappropriately," he said. "We'd like this to be a place where the true fans can get what they are looking for without having to find it through unapproved means."

In an interview with British publication Kerrang! Manson described his third LP as "arrogant in an art rock sense." He told Kerrang! "This is our 'White Album' because it's very experimental yet it came out a lot heavier than anything that anyone would imagine. It's definitely the heaviest record we've ever made."

Besides working on the follow-up to 1998's "Mechanical Animals," Manson launched his own record label Posthuman Records earlier this year and signed its first act, the industrial noise group Godhead, in May. Godhead is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on its first album "2000 Years of Human Error," which is tipped to be available in stores in January, 2001.
