No Doubt announces a slew of summer dates

For the first time in five years, ska-rockers No Doubt will hit the tour trail, visiting amphitheaters and arenas from coast to coast.

The long-awaited tour gets underway May 3 with an appearance at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, NJ, before crisscrossing North America twice, stopping in 45 cities along the way. The road trip ends with a two-night stand at Irvine, CA's Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Pop rockers Paramore will open all shows, with The Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash on select dates. Tickets go on sale to the general public March 7, and members of the No Doubt Tour Club can pick up presale tickets beginning tomorrow.

Fans will also have the opportunity to win a meeting with the band, a limo ride to the show and collectible No Doubt memorabilia through a special online contest, which launches today and runs through March 17 at the band's official website.

The group's excitement to return to the stage was evident in a video recorded by the quartet yesterday and posted at the band's website. Frontwoman Gwen Stefani said, "We're not even going to do a record. We're just going to go right on tour and have fun. We know that if we get to see you guys, we're going to get really inspired to make music."

Word is that No Doubt spent some quality time in the studio in 2008, though Stefani's contribution has been somewhat limited due to the summertime birth of her second child, Zuma Nesta Rock. The group's last release, 2001's "Rock Steady," featured the lead single "Hey Baby," which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
