Chris Cornell expands 'Scream' outing
Rocker Chris Cornell has added another 10 dates to his North American spring trek, which coincides with the release of his eclectic new solo album, "Scream."
The former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman is now scheduled to play 28 clubs and theaters across the US and into Canada from late March through early May. Since last check, his previously announced dates have been tweaked a bit, as well: The tour is now set to kick off March 28 in Dallas, and a New Orleans gig has been cancelled.
The newly added leg stretches from St. Louis, MO, to Los Angeles, with markets including Denver, Seattle and Salt Lake City in between. An updated itinerary is listed below, and tickets for the new dates go on sale to the public this Friday (2/27).
Fans who buy tickets online will also receive a digital copy of Cornell's third solo effort, "Scream." A code will be sent to purchasers to redeem the full album when it is released nationwide March 10.
On the road, Cornell is expected to cover material from his two-decade, 14-album career, in addition to showcasing tunes from "Scream." The new set teams the Grammy-winning rocker with hip-hop producer Timbaland, who brought an R&B flavor to Cornell's typical hard-rock stylings.
"Musically, this is the most ambitious thing I've been a part of," Cornell said in a statement. "It's almost like a movie soundtrack."
The title track and a few other songs from the album can be heard at the singer's MySpace page.
