The Fray maps summer tour dates
The Fray has mapped summer tour dates behind the band's hot-selling new studio album, which topped the US album chart after hitting store shelves last month.
The Denver-based alt-rockers kick off their schedule June 12 in Atlanta, the first of more than 30 cities the tour is currently schedule to pass through before wrapping up Aug. 7 in Spokane, WA. Details of the trek are included below.
Fans who sign up for the group's official mailing list through The Fray's website will be given a code to pre-order tickets March 3 only; tickets go on sale to the general public March 13. Citi cardmembers will also be eligible for a special March 11 pre-sale event. More information can be found at Citi's Private Pass Program website.
The band's self-titled sophomore set surfaced last month, debuting in the top spot on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 179,000 copies during its first week. The first single from the album, "You Found Me," peaked at No. 7 on Billboard's Hot 100.
"It's funny how fickle and sometimes interesting the public changes their perceptions of things--what is cool, and then isn't cool anymore, and then all of a sudden is cool," guitarist Dave Welsh told LiveDaily last summer. "Like, TV's cool again--weird. Being a band on TV is cool. I hardly think that Green Day, 10 years ago, would have done a TV spot. Nowadays, it's like, who wouldn't? It's weird to see the evolution of it."
The album follows the group's 2005 debut, "How to Save a Life," which was the best-selling digital record since SoundScan began tracking digital albums, according to a statement.
