Van Halen website tweaks album artwork

Someone behind the scenes at Van Halen's official website created a mini-uproar among the group's hardcore fans earlier this week when visitors to the revamped site noticed that pictures of exiled original bassist Michael Anthony had been removed from two of the band's classic album covers. Anthony's individual picture on the cover of the band's 1978 debut was replaced with an image of the group's new bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie's 16-year-old son, while the cover of "Women and Children First"--which, in its original form, features a group photo that includes Anthony--was altered to a text-only version.

The subsequent uproar on various Van Halen newsgroups and fan websites apparently led to the reinstatement of both albums' original artwork.
