A Perfect Circle Cancels Festival Appearance

A Perfect Circle , one of the bands participating in Canada’s Summersault 2000 festival, on Friday (8/4) missed the opening date of that tour due to “personal reasons,” according to a band publicist. The group on Wednesday (8/2) announced via a statement posted on its official website that it would be missing the show.

“Due to a family emergency, A Perfect Circle will not be playing in Vancouver, BC, on August 4th,” read the statement. “They will resume with the tour in Edmonton, AB on August 6th.”

The band’s publicist confirmed that the group had rejoined the tour in Edmonton, and that it was expected to play at all upcoming shows. The Summersault 2000 tour--which also features Our Lady Peace, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Deftones and others--is scheduled to run until Aug. 16.

On Aug. 18, A Perfect Circle is scheduled to begin its own headlining club tour in Boston. The band is touring in support of its debut release “Mer de Noms,” featuring the hit-single “Judith.” The band plans to release the track “3 Libras” as the album’s next single and video, according to a statement on its official website. No release date was specified.

The group is set to perform at the Summersault 2000 tour’s stop in Saskatchewan, Canada, on Monday night (8/7).
