The Who-Jimmy Page-Black Crowes tour has added a third night at Madison Square Garden. Tickets for the October 6 show go on sale on Monday (8/14).
The 365 Network reported that Moby will perform on the BBC's "Later with Jools Holland." The show will tape on Aug. 29 and will air on Oct. 7.
"A&E's Live by Request Starring Willie Nelson " airs on Monday (8/14).
On Nov. 7, Virgin Records' imprint Immortal will release "Strait Up," featuring the music of Snot and the words of such vocalists as Korn's Jonathan Davis, Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath. The late James Lynn Strait was Snot's frontman until his fatal car accident in 1998.
Billboard reported that Ace & Eights--the Koch Records imprint founded by Supersuckers frontman Eddie Daly--will release in October "Free the West Memphis Three," an album to benefit the three men who were convicted as teenagers for the murders of three eight-year-old boys in West Memphis, Ark. Since that trial, many people have spoken out against what they see as a miscarriage of justice.
Contributors to the album include Eddie Vedder, Steve Earle and Tom Waits.
Bob Weir and RatDog are releasing the CD "Evening Moods" on Sept. 26.
Teen People Online is hosting a contest to name the band consisting of three cast members of the TV series "Making the Band" and Matt Morrison, who was in "Footloose" on Broadway.
