A new R.E.M. Song, "Until the Day is Done," will debut today (10/10) on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360". The song will be matched to clips from CNN's "Planet in Peril," a documentary that features footage from areas around the world where environmental crises are not just theories but are happening in real time, according to R.E.M.'s website. In addition to being used during the program, the song will also play over the documentary's closing credits.

The video trailer is available at the "Planet in Peril" section of CNN.com. The actual four-hour documentary--which focuses on climate change, deforestation, species loss and overpopulation--airs in two parts, on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), according to reports. It will also air worldwide on CNN International in more than 200 countries and territories.

R.E.M. has just completed recording its 14th studio album, which includes "Until the Day is Done."
