Founding Bass Player Brian Marshall Splits From Creed

Creed and founding bassist Brian Marshall have parted “on friendly terms, citing personal and professional differences,” according to a statement issued by the band’s management company on Wednesday (8/9). Marshall “plans to seek other interests and opportunities.”

Marshall’s absence will not affect the band’s fall tour, which is scheduled to open in the Chicago area on Friday (8/11). While the band does not plan to seek a permanent replacement for Marshall, it has enlisted Brett Hestla--lead singer for Atlantic Records act Virgos--to play bass on the tour.

Marshall and Creed are negotiating terms for Marshall’s involvement in “the future releases of previously recorded but unreleased material,” and both Creed and Marshall continue to be represented by Orlando's Jeff Hanson Management & Promotions, the statement said.

Creed’s upcoming tour is expected to visit 45 cities this fall, but fewer than 20 dates have been confirmed.
