Aerosmith Drummer Named Honorary Chairman of Boston Music Awards
Joey Kramer, drummer for Boston rock legends Aerosmith, has been named honorary chairman of this year's Boston Music Awards.
"Aerosmith plays all over the world, but it all starts and comes back here to Boston for me," Kramer said in a prepared statement. "Boston is in Aerosmith's DNA. I am part of Boston's family of musicians and to be named the BMAs’ Honorary Chairman gives me a real opportunity to serve my brothers and sisters in this rich community of artists."
The 2007 Boston Music Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place Dec. 1 at Boston's Orpheum Theater.
Formed in Boston in 1970, Aerosmith has sold more than 100 million albums, and has racked up more Boston Music Awards nominations than any other band in the event's 20-year history.
