Van Halen Taps Ryan Shaw For Opening Slot
Classic rockers Van Halen, who are in the midst of a successful nostalgia outing, have recruited soul singer Ryan Shaw to take over the tour's opening slot later this month.
Shaw climbs on board on Feb. 22 in Charlottesville, VA, taking over for current support act Ki-Mani Marley--son of reggae legend Bob Marley--who has been opening for Van Halen since the group's semi-reunion tour launched last fall.
Last month, Shaw picked up his first Grammy nomination in the Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance category for "I Am Your Man," a track featured on his debut album, "This Is Ryan Shaw."
